How Petri works

Every tile holds a blob of culture pinned to one corner. Tap a tile to spin it a quarter turn. Blobs on neighbouring tiles join up into a colony when they both reach the edge they share.

  1. Your three cards each show a colony shape and what it pays.
  2. Spin a tile. If the spin grows a colony matching one of your cards, take the points, draw a replacement and go again.
  3. Shape only — rotation doesn't matter, and it can sit anywhere on the dish.
  4. A colony that was already there pays nothing. You have to make it.
  5. You can't spin the tile that was just spun.
  6. Stuck? Compost throws your whole hand away for three new cards, and costs you the turn.

First to 30 wins.
